Loretta (Lori) Feehan is a financial and tax advisor in private practice located in Denver, Colorado. Ms. Feehan is a Certified Public Accountant and an expert in taxation. She served as the trustee of a trust that holds a substantial interest in an energy company with international oil and gas operations, liquified natural gas operations and regulated electric utility transmission and distribution investments. In that capacity, she has engaged in negotiations related to corporate ownership matters, including dividend policies, governance structures and processes.
Ms. Feehan also serves as non-executive chair of the Board of Directors of Valhi, Inc., a publicly traded holding company which operates through its majority owned subsidiaries, Kronos Worldwide, Inc., CompX International, Inc. and NL Industries, Inc., where she also holds the chair positions. Operations of the companies are in the areas of manufacturing and chemicals, including international operations in Germany, Canada, Norway and Belgium. She has substantial experience in senior management compensation reviews, internal control over financial reporting, financial statement reviews associated with Securities and Exchange Commission filings and other governance and operational matters.
Ms. Feehan has developed numerous income tax training programs for tax specialists and is highly regarded in conducting annual professional tax update seminars across the United States.
Ms. Feehan has long held a passion for impact related volunteerism. She has previously served as Board chair of CBM US, a nonprofit serving those with disabilities in developing countries, Board Chair of the Washington, DC based USA FOR UNHCR (The United Nations Refugee Agency), Board President of the Dallas Women’s Foundation and Board Chair of the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Women’s Foundation of Colorado.
She received a Masters Degree in Taxation from the University of Denver in 1981 and received her Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the University of Denver in 1987. She was a Tax Partner with Deloitte & Touche from 1987 to 1992, where she worked primarily with large corporations in the areas of multinational reorganizations, negotiated settlements with the Internal Revenue Service and mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Feehan is an avid hiker. She has two children.
