Ways to Volunteer
When positions are available, Doctors Care welcomes members in our community who want to donate their talents to our mission. Whether it is helping assemble welcome packets for new patients, to being a provider in the clinic, we look forward to partnering with you!
Volunteer Opportunities at Doctors Care include:

General Volunteer
General volunteers help the organization with work that is crucial to our services. Tasks include assembling welcome packets for new patients, organizing donated items (i.e., diapers, food, blankets) for easier distribution, and providing a friendly smile for those entering our doors. General volunteer opportunities are available for one-day group projects or individual monthly projects.

Connection to Coverage Volunteer
Our Connection to Coverage program helps individuals shop and apply for health insurance plans on Connect for Health Colorado’s marketplace, enroll in Medicaid, understand their benefits, and more! As a volunteer, you will become certified in everything health insurance, creating better access to health care for communities across Colorado!

Medical Volunteer
We welcome volunteer providers to help care for patients in our primary care clinic, including physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.

Care Coordinator Volunteer
Within the clinic, our Care Coordination team helps patients in the clinic by finding specialty care, following up with individuals when they visit the ER, and other well care follow up. Care Coordinators are often retired MDs and nurses, but we also accept those with any healthcare experience as volunteers.

Accessible and Affordable Care Volunteer
Doctors Care’s founder, Dr. Gary VanderArk’s philosophy is that if we all do a little bit, we can accomplish a lot. When your practice opens its doors to more Medicaid and CHP+ patients and creates financially equitable fees based on income for uninsured patients, you are creating healthier communities that thrive! If you would like to be included in our referral system, please contact our Care Coordinators at 720-458-6188.
For more information, or to volunteer for any of these opportunities, contact Jana Baker at 720-458-6174 or jbaker@doctorscare.org.
