That was Doctors Care’s mantra in January 2023. When challenges presented, Doctors Care showed resiliency in keeping with our mission. We prospered despite wind, rain, broken pipes, insurance claims, and reconstruction. In the end, we have a more effective facility to serve our patients. Staff navigated the instability of the Public Health Emergency ending, creating a new normal once again. Through the bumps and bruises, the right people carried us forward, strengthened our reserve, and helped build our resolve.

The past year put our focus in two areas. First, we committed to replacing our electronic health record. With proper planning, fundraising, and the eager willingness of staff and volunteers, we know this new system will bear fruit in 2024. Second, we took the necessary steps and agreed to begin accepting privately insured patients for the first time in Doctors Care’s existence. This helps ensure that newly covered patients through the OmniSalud coverage program (health insurance for undocumented people) can continue care at Doctors Care.
