Hope is never lost at Doctors Care.
At Doctors Care, hope is not lost when someone walks through our doors uninsured. One small step in the right direction can make a difference, and your support helps us open pathways to opportunity for our patients.
For one mother, that little glimpse of hope you helped provide means she will soon be reconnected with her children.
This patient first came to Doctors Care several years ago when she was on Medicaid. Given the changing landscape of the health care system, she soon began to make too much money to stay covered. Without the necessary income to afford private insurance, she became uninsured and avoided receiving the care she needed due to potential costs.
But through frequent touchpoints, Doctors Care’s Behavioral Health Advocate, Darcy Luebbert, was able to help this patient initiate therapy services.
“She listens to me when I go visit her,” says this grateful patient.
Darcy helped her to stop using nicotine and marijuana and provided resources to help with anxiety and panic attacks.
“I feel better about myself. I feel more stable now.”
That stability leads to this mother being reconnected with her kids who have been living with family. She will regain custody this month.
“I feel confident in getting them back knowing I can mentally and financially provide for them,” she says.
Through Doctors Care’s frequent check-ins, this mother received the consistent care she needed to reunite her family. She says she can rely on Doctors Care to always be there for her and will be taking her kids to the clinic as well.
This is what your support looks like in action. Every patient who walks through our doors knows they can receive nonjudgmental health care and support without fear of a large medical bill. Your commitment to Doctors Care’s mission is bringing this family back together.
This is just one story of many people in similar situations. Your care and compassion do not go unnoticed. You impact our patients’ lives every day when you donate your time, talents, and treasures to Doctors Care. We hope that you continue to do so on Colorado Gives Day this year.
We thank you for always being there for our patients!
