Doctors Care welcomes Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna insurance patients to the clinic.
LITTLETON, CO—Doctors Care has expanded its community of care to welcome Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna insurance patients. Doctors Care is committed to providing affordable health care, and this expansion creates a more sustainable model for doing so.
Enacted in 2021, the Colorado Option provides specific health insurance plans with better access to lower-cost care, such as well care and behavioral health. However, out-of-pocket costs and high deductibles still place a financial barrier to receiving care. The Colorado Health Institute’s 2023 Colorado Health Access Survey states that one in five Coloradans skip medical care due to cost.
“Through Colorado Option, Doctors Care can cast a wider net to serve those who continue to struggle financially, no matter their insurance status,” said Bebe Kleinman, Doctors Care CEO. “By accepting private insurers for the first time in our organization’s 37-year history, we are ensuring more Coloradans can access affordable, high-quality healthcare.”
Doctors Care remains committed to ensuring that Medicaid and uninsured individuals receive the care they need. The organization’s integrated care model and sliding fee scale will continue to provide much-needed services to those who face barriers to accessible and affordable care.
