Bebe Kleinman has spent more than 40 years in the nonprofit sector advancing equity in health care, housing, and food access for low-income children, families, and older adults. For more than 25 years, she has served as CEO of Doctors Care in Littleton. When she started, the organization had just four staff members. Under her leadership, it has grown into a trusted community health resource that helps people get the care and coverage they need to live healthy, productive lives.
Bebe is known for bringing people together across sectors. She helped launch the Colorado Safety Net Collaborative, a statewide coalition of charitable health care providers, and now chairs its board. She is also Vice Chair of the Arapahoe County Public Health Board and Past Vice Chair of the South Metro Community Foundation. In 2025, The Colorado Health Foundation selected her for its Nonprofit Executive Sabbatical Program, including time as Executive-in-Residence. She brought new insights from that experience back to Doctors Care to strengthen its governance, partnerships, and long-term sustainability.
Bebe was a Colorado Trust Fellow in 1996 and holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Management from Regis University. Before joining Doctors Care, she was Program Director for The Women’s Foundation of Colorado, Director of Development for The Gathering Place, Executive Director of Douglas County Senior Services, and Director of Social Services for Sheridan County Memorial Hospital in Wyoming.
