Doctors Care is pleased to announce it has received a $75,000 grant from Arapahoe County Aid to Agencies.

Arapahoe County’s generous support will guide the work of Doctors Care’s Health Education programming to provide compassionate, quality health education and resource navigation to the community. Funding will also support the provision of resources, connections, and education so that patients can build a foundation for a healthier future.

In addition to providing comprehensive medical, behavioral, and dental health care, Doctors Care understands the importance of addressing the social determinants of health when treating south metro Denver’s most vulnerable populations. Heath education and resource navigation are vital components of its integrative approach to care and help individuals find a path towards long-term health and wellbeing.

Individuals and families who visit Doctors Care receive special questionnaires that identify needs such as food, transportation or housing assistance, behavioral health and dental care, or anything else they may need. Patients with expressed needs can connect directly with Health Educators who provide resources and connections to needed services – usually during their visit.

“We are so grateful to Arapahoe County and our city partners for having the foresight and concern to help expand our services to low-income families,” said Bebe Kleinman, CEO, Doctors Care. “The pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on our community, and our workforce must be developed so we can care for everyone that is in need.”
