Open Enrollment is off to a great start at Doctors Care

The Open Enrollment period is now in full swing and the Certified Health Coverage Guides at Doctors Care have been busy helping people get connected to affordable coverage. We kicked things off recently with an Open Enrollment and Health Fair Event. Over 200 individuals learned more about their health care options and many received preventative services. Attendees had the opportunity to chat with exhibitors and get important medical information and free testing, including flu shots. During the event, Health Coverage Guides and insurance brokers completed more than 30 one-on-one appointments.

Among the families to get successfully enrolled in coverage were Genna, Donie and Dante. They were able to schedule an appointment in advance using the Get Covered Connector, a convenient online tool on the Doctors Care website. Finding a one-on-one appointment on a Saturday was a plus and the family was thrilled to get the help they needed.

Jessica , Richard and Isaiah also successfully enrolled in coverage at the event.  After Richard tried to enroll online by himself he had several questions about the application and the plans available. Both Richard and Jessica were thankful to find in-person assistance with people who were able to help them navigate the enrollment process. The family recently moved to Denver for Richard to attend graduate school, and Jessica teaches kindergarten part-time. They are relieved to have health coverage for the whole family.

Jeanette is self-employed and enrolled last year in a Colorado HealthOp plan. She began looking for in-person assistance when she learned that Colorado HealthOp would no longer be offering health insurance. Jeannette was reassured to find that she can receive financial assistance to purchase health coverage this year. Jeanette found the enrollment process “painless” and is so thankful for Doctors Care’s enrollment assistance. Jeanette says, “You really need people like this to help navigate the enrollment process!”

Finding the right health coverage can be daunting, but with the help of experienced Doctors Care Certified Health Coverage Guides, individuals and families in south metro Denver are getting the support they need to make the best decisions and get covered. Doctors Care will continue to provide appointments throughout the open enrollment period which ends January 31, 2016. Visit www.
